Fourth generation coal miner who has worked in the mining industry since May 1977 on both surface and underground operations in Utah, Virginia, Kentucky and West Virginia with Leckie Smokeless Coal Co., Atlantic Richfield, Westmoreland Coal Co., Peabody/Eastern, Anker Energy, Alpha Natural Resources, ICG and Arch Coal, Inc., in various production and management positions from coal crew to chief engineer to general manager and company president.
Active in Arch's recruiting efforts at WVU.
