Robert Quenon is a native West Virginian born in Clarksburg. He received his bachelor's degree in mining engineering from the WVU School of Mines in 1951 and a LLB (JD) from George Washington University in 1964.
Quenon has held numerous professional positions over the past 47 years (17 years international) with major mining company and federal government, including chairman and CEO of Peabody Holding Company, the largest U.S. coal company and the largest private coal company in the world. Since his retirement in 1991, Quenon has engaged in consulting with various domestic and international companies and governments.
